free innerfuze album!!

in preparation for upcoming release on vermin street, i have decided to give away a free album. this album is a collection of tunes from the past 2 years i have assembled for your enjoyment (i hope).

as we all know, music is a wonderful thing. there is, of course, the "music industry" and indeed i am part of that, mostly to support the great folks who run and are a part of vermin street. on the flip side, however, my music is an extension of myself, and i see it having more of an emotional and artistic value that anything else. i am happy to give this album away for free to all those who are interested so they (you) can enter my world, if only for a moment or two. some tracks may catch your ear, some may not, as there is a wide variety of styles represented on this album.

regardless, please download and listen and let me know what you think if you like. you can find the album here:

eric

ableton LIVE

i've been working on my live set (with the help of the amazing encanti ). if i am going to make tunes and tunes that i hope will sell, it's time to start playing live, promoting the tunes, the label and myself. plus, hey, how fun!

ableton is the program i am using... not a tradition dj setup, i realize, no records to be found... however, THIS is the wave of the future. musicians have been playing their live sets with ableton for quite some time now... it's nothing new. BUT, more and more venues are accepting so-called "laptop djs".

i am a laptop dj. i use ableton and a MIDI control, one which looks like a traditional hardware mixer with a crossfader, knobs and buttons. the difference is, i can program each of this things to perform specific functions for me within ableton. that means i can use my crossfader as a traditional cross fader between a and b audio channels... but also that i can map in effects, eq's, pretty much anything i want and control them via this MIDI controller.

it's quite incredible. i am working hard on getting it all right, but be on the lookout... hopefully i'll be playing at a venue (somewhere?) near you soon.

cheers,
eric

two new tracks

two new tracks from the new studio.

check them out here: samadhi7

new studio is up and running

its not easy rebuilding your studio. and, of course, there are still some things i need to do. but most importantly, i am making music. the new studio is perfect so far. eons better than what i previously had. i had been slowly building it for the past few months and now it's finally there.

this weekend i wrote two new tracks, which, in my mind, are better than anything i've written in the past month. i will post links soon, as soon as i can publish them to the website.

anyone interested in a direct link, or for the tracks sent via email, just let me know.

also been learning the ropes of ableton live, for the purposes of playing live DJ sets. this has been amazing, eye opening and SO much fun. thanks to encanti for all his help. hopefully i'll be playing out soon.

cheers all,
eric

chilling too late...

what ABOUT bed? eh... not tonight.

working on two new ones. that brings the total of new tracks up to 9 for "real" tracks", and 18 for total new ones.

need to get some feedback on these songs... but i just keep tweaking.

started listening to last step a bit... and christ. not bad... not inspiring, but definitely some good listening. also, the national and future kings of england. very good stuff. i got one of the national's older albums (alligator), more raw and crazy... but i love it still.

my taxes or done... my headphones are on, all is good in the world tonight.

does anyone else listen to music out there? how about some more suggestions!!!

cheers,
eric

just when you thought it was safe

in my previous post i indicated very few electronic artists in my currently listening description...

well, guess what...

new chris clark is blowing my mind to bits. so incredible.
new syntheme, even though i don't wish to hear the EP tracks again, is acid-incredible.
and, i finally caved and bought venetian snares "my downfall". DAMN. incredible.

so there! some great stuff...

now i should check if echospace has any new stuff out love. gotta love that dub-techno.

cheers,
eric

lately

hi all... damn, it's been nuts lately!

been working away in the studio... i have about 6 tracks nearing completion. i will post some soon for listening...

the website hasn't gotten much attention unfortunately. sorry about that. will soon put some work into making that website a real home for my music...

listening lately has been great. not a whole lot of electronic music catching my ear these days, but surely the stuff i've been listening to has been keeping my ears clean so i can produce (hopefully you think the same after hearing my newest material). anyway, the national's album "the boxer" is just phenomenal. animal collective's new album is a must have. fink is my greatest find in a LONG time, and i've been listening to his entire catalog. a bit disappointed with south's new release.... and the music haven't impressed me in a while, much is the same with their new release. "the left side" is a decent song, however. found a bunch of rare verve tracks as well... and have been listening to clark, wisp and some great productions by wagawaga lately.

hope all is well out there in the world and keep your eyes out for my latest work if you're interested...

studio work going well!

inspired by the NAMM conference and all the new stuff out there (that i have yet to dive into), i've been quite productive in the studio of late.

i've got six new songs that i will soon post..

still working to get the website up and running... its kind of a blank shell right now. hopefully soon i will find time to work on that, but when i'm feeling good in the studio, i really don't have the motivation to spend my free time working on the website.

seems like there are too many artists with the name samadhi... wondering whether i should just go with samadhi7? any thoughts?

cheers all.

back in the studio, new website

alright, i am back in the studio. working on a few tracks right now, some of which can be heard at my new website.

the site itself is skin and bones... nothing to it yet. going to work that all out when i find some time (where does one find that stuff, by the way?).

anyway, if you'd like a preview check out http://www.samadhi7.com/player.html

drop me a comment and let me know what you think.

cheers,
eric
